FLASHBACK 2007

2007 has been a wonderful year since I started blogging. It all started on 30 April 2007 with my first posting titled 十八岁的回憶, meaning memories when I was 18 years old. Well, that was my first and last posting in Chinese. I realized that in Blogger, there are more English blogs rather than Chinese blogs and the chances of earning some pocket money through advertising companies like Nuffnang would be slim if I were to have postings in Chinese. From then onwards, all my articles were in English and it was surely fun.

Time flies real fast. Within a short period of 8 months, I have hit more than 330 posts and was given quite a few awards such as the Thinking Blogger, Awesome Guy Blogger, Power of Schmooze and Breakout Blogger. Moreover, I have put my computer graphical skills to test with the creation of hundreds of graphic and photography designs for posts as well as for banners. Here are some of them:

With self motivation, commitment and high spirit, I went deeper and deeper into expressing my thoughts and experiences in life by sharing what I have learned through my growing up years until who I am now. That is why I have adopted the name Criz’s Sanctuary, a place where there will not be short of love, life and relationship. Within days of being a newbie in the blogosphere, I was noted by the infamous AhPek and that pushed me to excel further into blogging. Thanks AhPek, I will surely not forget you for the spark you have given me to strive for the best in life.

Barely two weeks from joining in the blogosphere, I had another surprise. This time, it is from another family man. It is none other than PapaJoneh. Not only did he become my closest friend and buddy, he has given me the best time of my years. It is needless to say that his support, advice and guidance are like a precious diamond, priceless and flawless. Thank you for everything you have done for me friend. I appreciate it a lot.

I got to know many other bloggers who one way or another, who have guided and inspired me to stay on in the blogosphere. Cedric, thanks for showing me a better platform to start blogging. Pikey, thanks for the sharing of many priceless tips. Zewt, thanks for the support and inspiration articles you have posted up to keep me moving on. Wuching, thanks for the kick in the butt with your sense of humour to make my life joyful. Sweetpea, thanks for your sharing on how happy a family should be. Annabel, thanks for the support and sharing even though the time difference between here and Switzerland is so far apart. Lasker & Elise, thanks for the good times I had with ShoutOut.

Azmeen, thanks for the IT knowledge and good advices which you have shared with me. Daniel & Satkuru, thanks for the little tips here and there in making my blogs more interesting. EastCoastLife, thanks for tickling me always with your humour. Singapore mummy rocks! Jamie, thanks for the fun I had with Photo Hunt. It really stretched my creativity in photography. Well, at the rate I am going, I do not think I can thank everyone in one posting. To my readers and commentators, thanks for your support. I will try my best to blog better articles. To all the shouters, thanks for the good time you have given me. To those photo hunters, thanks for the support and opportunity to know you all from all over the world.

In order to show my appreciation, I would like to introduce you to the official launching of my new website Insight Criz. There is going to be a party all the way but drinks would be served in cyberspace. Haha… For this new acquired entity, I would be covering mostly on general life issues. It is going to be a thinking blog and I hope you all like it too. Anyway, this flashback post is getting a bit too lengthy. I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone “HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008!”

SURFERS’ PARADISE IN HAWAII

After finding out more about the Hawaii Travel Information through my American friend, it is no longer that hard to look for sunny beaches and tropical locations to visit. After all, where would be the most ideal place for a taste of beach adventure except for Hawaii, which comprised of 137 islands and atolls. Surrounding Hawaii are some of the world’s famous reefs. It would also be ideal for some snorkeling and scuba diving to see the wonders of the undersea.

Hawaii is a lovely place with beautiful sunsets, golden beaches, beautiful flora and fauna and warm friendly locals. There are many Hawaiian Beach Rentals available for you to choose, from Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Lanai, Molokai to the Big Island. What a lot of choices for family or business vacations.

I will also be looking forward to visiting Oahu, the third largest and the most populated island in Hawaii. Through the Oahu vacation rentals site, I have found out that Oahu is nicknamed as “The Gathering Place” for surfers. It has one of the best waves for big time surfing. I just can’t wait to check into the hotel and change to my surfer suit to ride on one of those big waves.

QUIET MOMENT WITHIN THYSELF

Sitting down, mindfully and stress free,
Searching inside what most could not see;
Chillness, instability and fears,
Pierced deeply into the bones as sharp as icy spears.

Shrill struck coldness into the heart,
Whining painfully inside urging to bark;
But the shivering feelings were just too strong,
Even to let one trying very hard to unbound.

Has anyone ever felt this way before? The feeling of fear within yourself even though you have done nothing wrong? The feeling of being so lost with no directions? The feeling of being so confused with truth and falseness? It felt as if something bad is about to happen. The mind goes wild thinking of all the possibilities of any bad happenings. What might be the causes these feelings? Could it be due to unrest worries, tiredness, illness, fearing death, fearing rejections, stresses, failures or even loneliness?

The answer is worries as many of us kept thinking about our future, consciously or subconsciously. Why would we still worry when we have adjusted our daily lives to whatever changing circumstances? We should be taking advantages of the present but not the past or the future. It would be absurd to look into the future and get to know what we should not know in the first place.

Some will be so desperate to find out about the worst part of their future through fortune tellers until they will spend thousands of dollars on rituals, charms or amulets just to make sure they will not be hard hit by misfortunes and bad lucks. For those who received good news on their luck, some will spend large sum of money gambling away hoping to strike that jackpot.

Do you think it is wise to act against the law of nature to live life one day at a time? We do not need to touch on sensitive issues here. But with a clear mind and understanding, isn’t it better to stay in the present and spend on what is required on a day to day basis? WHAT’S THE ITCHY BITCHY STUFF ON MY BED?

I have been very hygienic and dirtiness did not exist in my dictionary but somehow I have some skin irritations and rashes each time I woke up in the morning. I thought it was dust particles but I could be wrong. It could be bedbugs. Even though bedbugs are not dangerous, it could be annoying in a long run as they multiply real fast. You can imagine with 4-5 eggs daily, how many bedbugs you will have by the end of a month. The worst thing is that they live mainly off human blood and some other warm-blooded animals.

It is hard to see bedbugs as they are rather tiny and flat. They are just everywhere, from hotels, motels, furniture, luggage to even old clothing, and you may not aware of how easily they find their way into your homes. When they do that, they will hide practically anywhere and come out for their fiesta before each dawn.

There are many ways on how to kill bedbugs and eradicate them once and for all. One of the ways is to let your mattress out in the opening either under extremely hot or cold weather. You can even vacuum or steam clean regularly. If you are unsure that you will do the extermination properly, seek the help of the experts. It is baseless to save on something that is not within our ability.

EVERYBODY IS UNIQUE

“Every person born in this world represents something new, something that never existed before, something original and unique,” said Martin Buber. We are all born into the world, totally pure and unaffected by the outside forces. Our destiny is all within our own hands since we were born. How good or how bad our future is all lies with how positive and creative our minds are in seeking that special gift we have in all of us. It could be the gift of love, the gift of leadership, the gift of thoughtful thinking, the gift of sharing, or the gift of giving and so on. It is our own unique identity

By identifying and polishing up that gift, it would help to make a better society. Everybody would need love as comfort all the time. Those who are confused and lost would need someone to lead them towards the right direction. For those who have worked hard in the society, they would want some appreciation and gratitude. Other than that, some would want to share their knowledge with another in order to grow together for a better future. What about those who were born poor, sick and homeless? What will happen if there is no one with kindness and compassion to help them?

The world is filled with lots of confusion and suffering. Everyone in it has the unique task to make it better. It would not harm anyone if everyone were to extend the hands out and touch the world with an extra bit of love and kindness. You do not have to wait for an opportunity to do so. You can always lend the ears to someone in the old folks’ home, surprised them with a little gift of love and affection. Do something way out of your norm and see what will unfold. After all, there are many ways you can help in making the world a better place to be in.

ARE YOU A HARDCORE COLLECTOR?

Speaking about collecting stuff as a hobby, all of us have gone through that stage ever since we were a kid. Some will collect stamps, coins, currencies or even figurines ranging from Pokemon, Star Wars and many other Disney’s collectables. Some will even carry on with the interest even when they have grown up to be adults. I for sure am one of them.

Do you still remember the most loved and played Hornby trainset where you can join up different tracks and create nice sceneries with it? It really brought back many fond memories for me and my Dad. I was 3 years old then. I still keep part of the Hornby Collectables, namely the Duchess Class Locomotive with tracks and an over bridge proudly displayed in our showcase.

My Mum on the other hand could not get enough of the Wade Collectables. She loves to collect all those nice Wade ceramic figurines and plates from Whimsies to Felix Wade. One of her latest collection is the limited edition of the Wade Easter Bunny and it comes with a certificate too. These are of course displayed in the family showcase as well.

As for me, I would love to get my hands on limited edition or antique collectables. I still have my pearl white sport car displayed in my own showcase. There are only about less than 250 pieces in the world. I also have a huge collection of Disney characters in my possession as well as originals Japanese Anime DVDs. On and off, I would search for Antique Blog online to check on latest offers in the market. If I am lucky, I would get some good items to add to my existing collections.

Collecting items can be fun and interesting. Who knows? It might be a good investment after all for the future.

I HAVE SOME FUNNY BONES TOO

I do not know about you guys but I do have a lot of funny jokes up my sleeves most of the time. Have you all heard about one of the business jokes about a rich man’s death wishes? Well, Mr. TooMuchToSpend knew that he would not live long due to his critical illness and called his trusted pastor, doctor and lawyer to his mansion.

“I will not live long and I would want you all to do something nice for me during my funeral,” he said. Everyone was in shock and expected the rich man’s death wishes to be very demanding. They were relieved when the rich man continued, “I am going to issue a check for $100,000 each under your name and after deducting all the expenses for my funeral, please deposit the balance into my coffin before burial.”

A few weeks later, the rich man passed away. The pastor deposited $70,000 in cash into the dead man’s coffin after deducting the amount spent on the building a marble tombstone for the rich man. The doctor deposited $50,000 in cash into the coffin after minus the medical expenses of the rich man. The lawyer snapped at the other two for being cheaters. “I am not going to charge Mr. TooMuchToSpend a single cent. In fact, I am giving him more for all the businesses he had given me,” said the lawyer. He then wrote a check for $120,000 and deposited into the coffin.

Did you get the joke here? The jokes are on the pastor and doctor. One could be smart but there will be another who will be smarter. In the end, the lawyer who is the smartest of them all got the most!

VEGETARIAN MUTTON KURMA

INGREDIENTS
500g mock mutton
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup water
1 big onion (cut to wedges)
2” cinnamon bark
2 cloves
2 cardamoms
1 full clove of star anise

2 medium tomatoes (washed and cut to wedges)
2 green chillies (deseed and cut into thick slices)

40 Mint leaves
300ml full cream milk (can be replaced with coconut milk)
Salt and sugar to taste
Some fried shallots
2 potatoes (optional)

BLENDED INGREDIENTS
10 shallots
2 green chillies
2 tsp coriander powder
3 tsp poppy seeds
1 tsp turmeric powder
1.5” ginger
1/2 tsp grounded pepper

PREPARATION
1. Heat up the vegetable oil and stir in the blended ingredients.
2. Put in the onion, cinnamon bark, cloves, cardamoms and star anise. Stir until fragrance.
3. Add in the mock mutton and water. Simmer for 10 minutes on low fire.
4. Add in the tomatoes and green chillies and stir for another 5minutes.
5. Add in the full cream milk and mint leaves.
6. Add salt and sugar to taste.
7. Garnish with fried shallots
8. Serve with white rice, roti canai or chapatti.

STRESS FREE VACATION IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

Touring around United Kingdom can be real fun a great experience. There are many places of interest which include the Buckingham Palace, home of the British monarch where you can see the changing of guards, London’s famous Tower Bridge along River Thames, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, St Paul's Cathedral, London Eye, not forgetting the famous Hyde Park. Checking into any of the Hotels in London would be easy as they are scattered all around London town.

A bit up north of London is Birmingham, the largest core city of the United Kingdom. There are many places of interest in Birmingham such as the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, Thinktank, the newest museums in the Eastside, Cadbury World, Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Winterbourne Botanic Garden, three famous squares (Centenary, Chamberlain and Victoria), St Philip Cathedral, St Chad Cathedral, St Martin Church and also Europe’s largest mosque, the Birmingham Central Mosque. There are quite a number Hotels in Birmingham, with easy access to their many modes of transportation.

Traveling further north, you will reach Manchester. You would not miss the Manchester Town Hall, a beautiful building with Victorian era Gothic revival architecture. Manchester is well known for its centre of the arts, the media, higher education and commerce. It also housed the City of Manchester Stadium where you can enjoy a game of football by your favourite teams, Manchester United and Manchester City. The latest addition includes the 60m high Wheel of Manchester. There are many Hotels in Manchester which you can check in. There are lots of activities for nightlife, art and culture or simply just for shopping nearby.

MELE KALIKIMAKA THIS CHRISTMAS IN HAWAII

I would not be having my vacation in Hawaii this Christmas if I had not come across the advertisement for Hawaiian Beach Rentals. Hawaii is a lovely place with beautiful sunsets, golden beaches and warm friendly locals.

Browsing through the Hawaiian vacation information, I found much information on the many fun experiences I might gain, from ocean and water activities such as surfing, scuba diving to inland activities such as hiking up volcanoes and visiting pineapple plantations. It is truly amazing how detailed those information are.

On top of this, I also found information on Kauai vacation rentals. Kauai is the fourth largest island in Hawaii. It is a paradise for snorkeling. The clear and unpolluted water surrounding the islands is filled with abundance tropical fishes and reefs. It is a great place to witness the aquatic bounty of Hawaii.

I will be away for my sun and sand filled holiday soon. Mele Kalikimaka to everyone and have a great festive season ahead.

ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS MOVIE REVIEW

RATING: 4/5 AUDIO: ENGLISH SUBTITLE: CHINESE/ENGLISH/MALAY

INTRODUCTIONS
The original Alvin and the Chipmunks was created in the late 1950s as a recording and came to life as a cartoon because of their huge success. Three cute, furry and cuddly chipmunk brothers, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore were adopted by a then-failed songwriter named Dave Seville. As mischievous as any kids would be, they created havoc in Dave’s life on and off but Dave realized that the messy chipmunks sure can harmonize very well and introduced them to his money-hungry record producer Ian.

The trio then became an overnight boy-band sensation. Things went well initially until Ian got too big a head and decided to trick the boys into his marketing plans for chipmunk merchandises and an exhausting world tour for the boys. The story continues on how Dave tried to save his boys from being exploited.

REVIEW:
This CGI/live-action family-oriented comedy gets a thumb up from me. The intrepid trio of Alvin, Simon and Theodore did prove that animation is not only for kids. It can also be enjoyed by parents and siblings. It is a smile and laugh movie that will capture the hearts of many. When things get bad and dull with the normal romantic or boring storylines, the boys will jump in and get you into stitches with their mischievous behaviors.

The starting plot of having the trio storing acorns for the winter was good. In fact, it was the song “Bad Day” that made it interesting, on top of their cute, furry and cuddly features. In the scene when the trio got thrown out of the house by Dave, the song “Only You” and “Funky Town” got me laughing all the way.

When Dave got the inspiration from the trio’s sleeping sound, he came up with the perfect song, none other than Alvin and the Chipmunks’ beloved tune, “The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late).” It was amazing. The boys have never sounded or looked better. It has the touch of Christmas mood in it. The movie continued with the introduction of a few catchy and hip-hop songs that did well in following the music trend of today.

The director of the movie, Tim Hill (also directed “Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties”) did a great job in holding on to the interest of the viewers by concentrating more on the boys rather than on Dave’s relationship and Ian’s one-dimensional money monger greediness. Overall, it was cleverly crafted plot the music business and the trappings of success. It is a movie you would not want to miss with your children and friends during this Christmas.

HAWAIIAN MOODS THIS SEASON

It is going to be a long stretch of holidays for me this year end and I am going for a vacation with my family to the land of the fantasy island, Hawaii. I am feeling excited right now and confident too as I did all my reservation through Hotel Reservations.

ADDING ACCENTS TO A ROOM WITH LAMPS

From my previous post on “Setting the right moods with proper lightings”, I shall now go into specific areas in the house that can be improved further. If you know how to place certain lamps at strategic area, the lighting can add that extra dramatic flair as well. Shining certain floor lamps through the foliage of plants will provide accents to specific parts of a room.

Let us look at the living room first. For the living room, a wide variety of lighting can be recommended. You can use anything from recessed ceiling light, strip lighting behind valances and wall sconces. You can even have some table lamps with dimmers can let your control over the intensity of the light you wanted. It is through these that make the room come alive.

For the dining room, a chandelier could be the key source of lighting. It should be hung about three feet above the dining table. You could install dimmers to lower the light level when meals are served.

As for the bedroom, functional lighting for activities like reading, writing or drawing is a must. Selected desk lamps would be appropriate as is a swing arm lamp for each partner. A lamp with translucent shade is good task lighting for a dresser with a mirror.

NATURAL ALTERNATIVES FOR CLEANING AND POLISHING THE FLOOR

Vinegar: A few drops in the cleaning water will help remove grease panicles. Dull, greasy film on no-wax linoleum can be washed away with 1/2 cup white vinegar mixed into 1/2 gallon water. Your floor will look sparkling clean.

For Linoleum: Mild Detergent. Damp a mop using a mild detergent and water for day to day cleaning. Keep water away from seams and edges to prevent loosening of the
tiles. To preserve the linoleum floor you may wish to add a capful of baby oil to the mop water.

For Wood Floors: Vegetable Oil and Vinegar. Mix a 1 to 1 ratio of oil and vinegar into a solution and apply a thin coat. Rub in well.

For Painted Wooden Floors: Washing Soda. Mix 1 teaspoon washing soda into 1 gallon hot water and wash the floor with a mop, sponge, or soft bristled brush. This solution can also be used to remove mildew.

For Rubber Tiles: Mild Detergent. Avoid oils, solvents, and strong alkalis as they will harm the surface. Wash with clear water, a mild detergent, and a clean mop.

For Brick and Stone Floors: Vinegar. Mix 1 cup white vinegar into 1 gallon water. Scrub the floor with a brush and the vinegar solution. Rinse with clean water.

For Ceramic Tile: Vinegar. Mix 1/4 cup white vinegar (more if very dirty) into 1 gallon water. This solution removes most dirt without scrubbing and doesn't leave a film. Washing ceramic tiles with soap does not work very well in hard water areas as it leaves an insoluble film.

Club Soda. Polishing your floor with Club Soda will make it sparkle.

It is suggested that flowering in this orchid hybrid is regulated by growth substances, both qualitatively and quantitatively.

No one in this world is free from blames or criticisms. Even a person who kept his silence would be blamed for being too quiet. What about those who are talkative or in moderation? Man is born to be false and deceitful, not to others but to himself as well. How nice it would be if man can attend to his own affairs without interfering with the affairs of others. This is just a theory. In reality, not many people can achieve this.

Sometimes, it is in us, the so-called nature of us not being able to see things which is wrongful to our own perception in life. We tend to advice those whom we think are not living rightfully. To us it is a good deed. To others who are not willing to study deeply into their weaknesses, it is merely another criticism to spoil their lives. Anger sparks, temper increases, and there will be no end to disputes and quarrels.

Before we even attempt to criticize another, think about ourselves if we were to be in their shoes. Are we qualified to “advise” another when we cannot even settle our own life affairs or identify our own faults? It is easy for another person to see the faults of others. What about his own faults? Another saying goes like this, “One winnows other’s faults like chaff, but hides as a crafty fowler covers himself.”

Which would you choose? Being praised by everyone every time or being criticized by each and anyone all the time? As a human, we are always protective on own pride and ego. We prefer to be praised all the time but will it always help us in our life? Criticism on the hand will not always be in our favour. Constructive ones are. It is within our own willpower to filter out which are the constructive ones and use them as our guideline for better improvements in our life.

Praises will be like sweets, while criticisms will be like bitter gourds. The more praises you get, the more sweetness you consume and it is bad for health. Too much sweetness will cause sickness. Criticisms are in fact the bitterness to cure sickness. It would be hard and painful to consume initially, but the sooner you get used to it, the sooner you will have the courage to move on with your life. No matter what, there should be a balance of praises and criticisms. Too much of anything would not be good for one’s life too.

So do you still have the phobia of being criticized? I hope not. Regardless of how bad a criticism could be, hold on to your good work. Be strong and believe in yourself. Have the courage to withstand the pressure and you will not be short of successes ahead.

MY CHRISTMAS TREE

The Christmas season is just around the corner. Have you set up your Christmas tree yet? LE TOUR DE EUROPE

Speaking about traveling to Europe, my first impression would be “Il est si beau!” It is so beautiful in French and it is definitely true. Europe is a nice place to visit with 48 countries to choose from, namely United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Russia and so on. To visit each and every one of the country in Europe would be quite a great task and it will take a life time before you can even complete that task. With all the time and money I have, I will have to choose a few countries which I would want to visit first.

United Kingdom, the home of QEII, would be my first choice. I would want to visit London’s famous Tower Bridge along River Thames, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, St Paul's Cathedral, Buckingham Palace, London Eye, not forgetting Hyde Park where they have lots of concerts held there. I have always dreamed of sitting in one of those double decker buses before and this is going to be my chance to do so. Checking into any of the London Hotels would be easy as they are scattered all around London town. If time permits, I would want pay a visit to the nearest castle to have a feel of how big it is.

Moving down in my travel itinerary would be Berlin, The capital city of Germany. Berlin has hundreds museums and art galleries to visit if you are an enthusiasts of art and sculptures. To name some, the Altes Museum, the Neues Museum and the Alte Nationalgalerie are some of the famous ones. After a long visits and snapping of photos for memories, you might want to chill out in some of the pub surrounding Berlin. Since the broken down of the Berlin Wall in 1989, Mitte, the former city center of East Berlin, has boomed up many nightspots. I have to make sure I book into one of the many Hotels in Berlin as there are easily taken up during peak season.

Next on list would be Paris, the capital city of France. J'aime Paris. Who would miss Paris, one of the world's leading business and cultural centres, especially in the fashion, entertainment and art industries? Other than shopping for the uptrend and remarkable fashion designer’s products, it would be a waste if I did not visit their famous landmarks, namely the Notre Dame de Paris, Eiffel Tower, and the Napoleonic Arc de Triomphe. If you are in for the experience in the flora and fauna of Paris, do not miss out the Tuileries Gardens and Luxembourg Garden. It is also a must to act like the French when in Paris by trying out the France’s gastronomical diversity such as bread, cake, croissant, baguette, etc. As for accommodation, you can choose wisely on the easily available Paris Hotels.

Barcelona, aquí vengo! Finally I will be here in Barcelona, Spain. Barcelona is an important cultural centre and a major tourist destination. It is a world heritage site by UNESCO for its rich cultural heritage as well as architectural works. It also has many nice parks, beaches and wonderful night scene. One of the good places to visit would be the still unfinished church of the Sagrada Familia, one of the remarkable works of the famous architect, Antoni Gaudi. The church was constructed since 1882 and is scheduled to be fully completed by 2026. There are also many castle-like buildings with beautiful architectural designs such as the Barcelona Cathedral, Santa Maria del Mar Church, Palau Nacional, Arc de Triomf and Castell dels tres Dracs in this city. Barcelona Hotels are plentiful surrounding major business centres within the city.

WHITE HAIR, GREY HAIR, BLACK HAIR OR NO HAIR?

The lust and greed of human, especially men in particular often lead to many problems in their life. When the lust is strong, the greedier he gets. One may not be enough for him. Now he wanted two. Two of what? Two wives! What? Bigamy? What has happened to the saying “Until death do us part?” to the first wife? Here is the story of the marriage of a man in his late 40s.

He was 49 years old and a successful businessman. After marrying his wife of the same age for more than 15 years, he was still not satisfied with his life. He yearned for something more that will make him look good and feel good in the eyes of the business world. He decided to take on a second wife of 22 years old. She was beautiful, shapely and charming in appearance.

After less than a year being with the man, the second wife felt rather embarrassed. Everywhere she went with him, some people have mistaken her as his daughter. She has decided to make him look young by plucking out all the white and grey hair that he had appeared on his head. When his first wife noticed this, she pulled out his black hair one by one. She preferred a more mature and older appearance on him.

Months went by and day by day, the heated competition between the two women caused a stir within the business world. The results of their jealousy ended up making the man a bald. Haha…I wondered why they have never thought of dying his hair instead. Hmmm…

The moral behind this story is that certain things cannot be share, especially a husband, wife, house, car, boat, etc. Different people tend to think differently. Different people have the tendency to utilize an item at different period of time. When those time clashes, dispute and quarrel occur. The best solution to this is to get ONE of what you need most. Having one too many can make things rather complicated.

BEAUTIFUL BEDROOMS FOR SWEET SLUMBER

Regardless of size, a bedroom should be the room in which you feel most at home. It is your personal haven and a place where you can relax and dream away. In this modern living, bedrooms have been frequently used for dual purpose, either being combined with as a work station or a living area. It has become a real challenge to the designer to come out with the most effective bedroom, by playing with different display of furniture, style or choice of colors.

How do you plan to have an effective planning for your bedroom? To get the most out of it, you have to establish what your needs are and also to incorporate a bit of luxury in it. At times, due to the interior lightings or dark colored walls, some bedrooms look rather gloomy and dark. Try to brighten it up by getting some white bedroom furniture. White is believed to represent purity and cleanliness. It also cools off the mind after a tired day of work.

No matter what your plans are, avoid having everything so tight until getting up from a place is like going through an obstacle course. Bedroom is a place for relaxation and not a place you are trying to get away from. FRIENDSHIPS REMAIN TO THOSE WHO SEEK WISELY

In my previous post entitled FRIENDS IN DISGUISE, I was mentioning about the types of friends you should avoid in your life. They will not motivate you and bring you far in your path to being a successful person. What about those good ones whom you can get into your life? There are not many of these people around our ever changing society. If you can find one, together you can grow with them, nurture the friendship and move towards a better life. Who do you think possess the good characteristics that you would want them to be your friend?

Lover: This is not necessary someone who will love you and is willing to become your soul mate. This is someone who has a cultured mind, untainted by the chaotic and madness of life. S/he will have that in-born love and compassion, and knowing what is right or wrong distinctively. Everybody will love him/her for his/her mature way of life.

Listener: Someone who will listen attentively and patiently to you at all times. S/he could be a good counselor to all your hardships and woes. Every word that comes out from him/her will be of love, kindness, generosity and pleasantness. S/he is a resourceful person to guide you through your journey in life.

Speaker: Someone who speaks with deep thoughts, truth, back-upped by knowledge, experiences, facts and figures. This is the type of person who is very helpful and is willing to share what he knows without any repayment. S/he is indeed an unselfish person, not necessarily in monetary benefits but as in knowledge itself. Time and patience is all he has in clearing your doubts and straightening your thoughts. To him, actions speak louder than words.

Saver: Someone who will spend wisely in needs and not in wants. S/he is someone who will guide you through your journey in life, ensuring that you will not go astray in your process of reaching your aim. To him/her, time is money. So is life. Time should be used constructively in gaining more knowledge and experiences in order to have a better future. Self improvement and development remain as his/her ultimate goals. S/he is a wise person to be with.

On top of all the above points, holding on to your faith will also attract lots of good friends. S/he who is morally, intellectually and spiritually enriched will inspire, motivate and give strengths to others to move forward rightfully in life. After all, it is leadership by example. If you can show how well you will carry yourself, people will subsequently love you as whom you are…as a FRIEND!

LIGHT UP THE WORLD

Since the invention of the first commercially practical incandescent lamp by Thomas Edison in the 1880s, the lighting industry had progress remarkably with more and more version of lamps being created. With this technological advancement, incandescent lamps or commonly known as light bulbs, are now brighter, long lasting and consume less electricity.

One of the few latest introductions in the market is the High Intensity Discharge lamps. Also known as the HID lamps, they are known to be consuming electricity as low as 35W. They can emit comfortable bright white light which can last as long as 3000 hours. These HID lamps are 300% brighter than any of the lamps available in the market place.

The HID lighting system is so reliable that some of the world known automobile brand are using the HID lamps for their new vehicle models. MY DREAM VACATION IN EUROPE

I have always dreamt of having a vacation down in Europe. Europe consists of many countries with interesting cultures and heritage. There are so many countries to visit and yet so little time with my limited holiday leaves left. I guessed I have to choose Germany and its neighboring country, Austria.

I might have missed Oktoberfest in Germany but there are still many other places of interest that will keep me occupied during my trip. Since I love arts and sculptures, Berlin should be ideal as it has hundreds museums and art galleries, from the Altes Museum, the Neues Museum to the Alte Nationalgalerie. It also housed some of the world famous performing arts centres. No wonder UNESCO appointed Berlin as the City of Design. Being the capital city of Germany, Berlin also has its own unique culture, festival and night life. I am sure I will book in one of the many Hotels in Berlin during my trip there.

Austria will be next on my list. By mentioning about Austria, it reminded me of my all time favorite, The Sound of Music. Since the 18th century, Austria has been famously marked in the world map as the European classical music country. Some of the famous musicians include Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Strauss. Vienna, being the capital city of Austria, is rich with classical music theatres, museums and beautiful architectures. It is indeed a cool city to visit. Talking about cool, you can always opt for a vacation up in the Alps, where you can get the first hand experience in skiing, mountaineering and hiking in the snow. I just cannot wait to book myself into one of the Hotels in Vienna. I would want to try out their famous Apfelstrudel (hot apple strudel) and Viennese sausages.

This is going to be the vacation of my life and I am looking forward to this wonderful experience I am going to gather not long from now. It has LONG neck and LONG feet.

Next to this giraffe are some cute animals.
Here is a LONG trunk grayish baby elephant.
All these displays made me feel like going back to my childhood X’mas fantasy.

Then, as I was watering my plants in my garden, I saw this unique looking spider.
This yellow crab spider has so many LONG legs.

Later, when I went for an evening stroll along the beach,
I saw some fishermen with their daily catch.
I won’t put my hand near those LONG pinchers if I were you.

When you are run down, not even their shadows will appear in your life.

Talker: Someone who will entertain you with the past and future but will never be around in the present. S/he is a thunder indeed. S/he will promise you a thousand and one things, but when you are under a rain spell, s/he will express her/his inability to assist you.

So, be aware of who your friends are. You may never know how bad they will affect your life until it is too late. Looks can be deceiving but actions and speech can expose the motive and intention of a person.
