DREAMZ ACHIEVED

I was there in Genting last Sunday to watch the Dreamz. Thanks to AMBP for giving me the opportunity to make my dreams come true. The best part was that Genting management made my visit even better. Instead of sitting at the PS1 seats as allocated by them, my tickets were upgraded to VIP. Can you imagine the thrill and experience I had sitting at the first few rows just in front of the stage? The show was truly wonderful with their music being played by their live band.

DREAMZ01

As the opening, it started with two great illusionists (Italian, Loris Togni Alessandro and Spaniard, Enrique Polo) competing against each other for the love of one princess in a fantasy world. Featuring for the first time in Southeast Asia is a magnificent beast - the elusive white lion. Once thought to be a myth, the white lion first existed as whispered rumours in the wilderness of South Africa before finally being discovered in 1975. This highly elusive animal performs alongside the white tiger - possibly the most prized animal in modern times for its beautiful coat and stunning ice-blue eyes.

DREAMZ02

DREAMZ03

On top of that, there was also the colorful Belarus and Ukraine dancers, motorcycles stunts in The Globe of Death and some trapeze stunts by China’s Hua Chen Acrobatic Troupe.

DREAMZ04

Overall, Dreamz would great for those who had never watch any magic show live before and would like the experience of seeing the magnificent white lion and tiger up so close. You can call up the Genting Pavilion Box Office at 603-2718 1118 or book your ticket online through www.genting.com.my

I ENDED UP IN JAIL FOR LUNCH

It was terrible. I did not commit any crimes but I was forced into the jail with my friend and we had to take curry chicken rice for lunch. We were forced to watch the gruesome execution of a prisoner on an electric chair. Well, don’t get me wrong here. It is a “jailhouse” restaurant anyway. Haha! There is this few months old Japanese restaurant in Penang, which serves its customers in a jailhouse environment. The place rocks!

JAILO3

Welcome to the world of Obake-Ya Restaurant – the first ever Jailhouse Restaurant in Penang.

JAILO1

You even dine as the prisoners do in canteen or in your private cell. The whole environment looked dim and damp with the special effect of airbrush painting.

JAILO5

What’s cooking for lunch? You can have their in-house specialty which is the Jailhouse Curry Chicken Rice. You will be amazed on how they present it to you. Haha!

JAILO8

For your information, photographing the interior of the restaurant place is prohibited. I managed to arrange for an interview with the director herself to get this privilege. So, are you curious to find out what else you can have in there plus the author’s recommendation? Check out the full detail of this Japanese restaurant here.

WHAT’S NEW IN PENANG?

JEMPUTREE

Most of us are bored with the regular “lepak”ing in Mamak stalls or McDonald’s. Where would you go if you feel like spending your time with friends at a new location? Oh My God! Not the sandy beaches or the mosquitoes infested hilly places again where you might meet up with an unexpected “stranger”. I dare you to go into the deep jungle, swarmed with head hunting tribes. They would not chop off your head but will still kill you eventually… kill you with the nice atmosphere and light mumbo jumbo music of theirs.

Welcome to Jemputree! This is a village in the heart of Georgetown that provides good ambience, nice jungle feel, and spacious areas for your jungle experience. You can even stay in the treehouses that they have provided for you at a minimal price. You pay for the food and beverages and you get to stay until 2.00am in the morning. You can have a variety of Malay, Western and Oriental food to choose from.

Are you now impressed and would like to find out more on the latest night spot in Penang? Click onto the treehouse photo above to read on…

ONLINE MARKETING AND WEB DEVELOPMENT BLOG REVIEW

Photobucket

I never knew that there are so many interesting things which I can learn online until I came across an online marketing and web development blog called Banner Blindness Inc. Not only did I get useful marketing information on the happenings around the cyber world, I also got some good advices on the pros and cons of some of the services available and ways to boost up the traffics for my websites.

What really caught my attention (so are the rest of the visitors) is the post on an analysis of direct response marketing - Kinoki foot pads - Livemercial. It shows how an effective website such as Kinoki foot pads can create a direct response impact which will boost up the sales for the company. The website has a strategy that will offer tens of products with are real impressive after you have signed up for any purchases. What a good marketing strategy but if you are not aware and careful on what you have selected while signing up, you might end up with recurring bills. Livemercial truly knows how to monetize its users, through recurring billing and up-selling. After all, the user had consented to purchase the products.

Another post which I like is on how to create an effective e-mail creative. The email marketing post explained the right way to send out email creatives that in return are effective and having high click-through rate? In short, an email creative must be colorful and tactful in using short sweet words to captivate the attention of the viewers.

Most of us out there would want to earn from any sort of online advertising companies and what I found out here in Banner Blindness Inc. is totally new to me. There are actually companies paying their users with high traffic to display their skins/templates for a specific period of time. Amazing right? This is one of the latest ways to enhance the online marketing strategy from a highly trafficked site by mode of using specially designed skins.

Speaking about online advertising strategy, you might want to know more about link bait. It is a great way to build the inbound links to your website. This is a method where a designer creates a time lapse photos/video and sent to another blogger in hope of getting a mention or a link. It usually works if your design is impressive enough to gain the attention of the recipients.

If you have any online marketing needs and you want some professional assistance, you can always check out Banner Blindness Inc. The company is currently offering the following consultation services to clients.

Paid Search (PPC - Price Per Click)
Large Scale Website Development
Blog Development
Landing Page Optimization

ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS MOVIE REVIEW

ALVINCHIPMUNKS

RATING: 4/5 AUDIO: ENGLISH SUBTITLE: CHINESE/ENGLISH/MALAY

INTRODUCTIONS
The original Alvin and the Chipmunks was created in the late 1950s as a recording and came to life as a cartoon because of their huge success. Three cute, furry and cuddly chipmunk brothers, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore were adopted by a then-failed songwriter named Dave Seville. As mischievous as any kids would be, they created havoc in Dave’s life on and off but Dave realized that the messy chipmunks sure can harmonize very well and introduced them to his money-hungry record producer Ian.

The trio then became an overnight boy-band sensation. Things went well initially until Ian got too big a head and decided to trick the boys into his marketing plans for chipmunk merchandises and an exhausting world tour for the boys. The story continues on how Dave tried to save his boys from being exploited.

REVIEW:
This CGI/live-action family-oriented comedy gets a thumb up from me. The intrepid trio of Alvin, Simon and Theodore did prove that animation is not only for kids. It can also be enjoyed by parents and siblings. It is a smile and laugh movie that will capture the hearts of many. When things get bad and dull with the normal romantic or boring storylines, the boys will jump in and get you into stitches with their mischievous behaviors.

The starting plot of having the trio storing acorns for the winter was good. In fact, it was the song “Bad Day” that made it interesting, on top of their cute, furry and cuddly features. In the scene when the trio got thrown out of the house by Dave, the song “Only You” and “Funky Town” got me laughing all the way.

When Dave got the inspiration from the trio’s sleeping sound, he came up with the perfect song, none other than Alvin and the Chipmunks’ beloved tune, “The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late).” It was amazing. The boys have never sounded or looked better. It has the touch of Christmas mood in it. The movie continued with the introduction of a few catchy and hip-hop songs that did well in following the music trend of today.

The director of the movie, Tim Hill (also directed “Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties”) did a great job in holding on to the interest of the viewers by concentrating more on the boys rather than on Dave’s relationship and Ian’s one-dimensional money monger greediness. Overall, it was cleverly crafted plot the music business and the trappings of success. It is a movie you would not want to miss with your children and friends during this Christmas.

A MAN WITH FACTS AND FIGURES

I have decided to go slow in my blogging today after a long posting. I did some blog hopping and came across a wonderful website by a so called Jonathan Deamer. Not only did he get me all excited over his articles on “50 signs you’re a blogaholic”, he also did send me an email thanking me for visiting his blog. How more personal can a person be?

After reading through his list of 50 signs, I ended up having ticked 23 signs. Gosh…I AM A BLOGAHOLIC! Luckily, I am still not a serious case yet as I know how to set my priority right. I have my own set of goals to achieve before I turned 40 years old. When I took up blogging, it acted as a mode of releasing my stress from heavy work schedules. With the encouragements of people like Cedric, AhPek, Papajoneh and a few more loyal readers, I ended up writing more and more articles touching mostly on life and relationships.

Well, I do enjoy writing good articles but then I had a phobia that things might not work well after a long period of time. Readers might get bored with my articles as what they do to their own lives. Reading the same style of writing might become too stale and too routine for them. It was only recently after I discovered Jonathan Deamer‘s article on “The 10 secrets of writing reviews that will keep readers coming back” that boosted my morality to strive for the best.

So go read what he has to say as he has many more useful links in his post that can help you blog better.
